L-Shaped Bunk Beds For Your Home

If you're looking to save some money on some college books but you have to have them returned in a timely manner then you should consider purchasing DIY l-shaped bunk beds. Why? Well, because if the book is damaged or lost then you don't have to worry about someone else taking care of it and paying to get it back.

When most people think of DIY projects, they automatically think of some carpenter doing some crazy hands-on project that requires a good bit of work and a lot of sweat equity. The truth is that DIY projects don't necessarily have to be as involved and difficult as that. Some of the best l-shaped bunk beds are as easy to make as pie. All it takes is a little bit of determination and a desire to learn. So what do you need to make these beds?

First, you need to decide on the size bed that you'd like. If you're making one for two children then you obviously can't use a loft bed since the bottom of the bed will be occupied by the toddler. If you're making a loft bed for a younger child, you'll want to use something like a cot or a bassinet. Using something like a cot or bassinet will make this easier to do if you don't have an extra-large bed to work with.

Now that you've chosen the size of the bed you'll be making then you need to purchase the lumber and nails for the job. L-shaped bunk beds usually consist of four beds which are stacked one above the other. This is a much more space-efficient design when using l-shaped bunk beds. It is also a much more economical design when using pre-cut lumber than having to buy it from a hardware store.

Once you have the lumber ready to go, you should have your platform ready to start putting the bed together. This includes the platform base that you'll be using as a base for the bed. Make sure that the platform is securely in place before you begin putting the parts back together. Use nails or screws to secure all of the parts except for the headboard. The headboard should fit over the platform and then be secured with staples or other forms of attaching material.

Once you've put all of the pieces back together then you can finally attach the headboard to the platform. You may find that you need to make adjustments before being able to put the last one in. It's always a good idea to check to see how much space you'll have before purchasing l-shaped bunk beds. If you don't have a whole lot of space, then opting for a loft bed or futon bed may work better for you. It just depends on what you prefer.
